Emily White’s 'how to build a sustainable carrer' podcast debuts 4th season with UK tour

Emily White’s “How to Build a Sustainable Music Career & Collect All Revenue Streams” podcast has just launched its fourth season, which will feature 14 episodes recorded in 9 cities across England and Northern Ireland.

Amazon #1 best-selling author and music industry veteran Emily White just dropped the season premiere of her top-ranked music business podcast. Get One’s Art Together” features musician and Bradford, UK community leader Sinead Campbell, recorded live at the Kala Sangam Arts Centre during Bradford Music Month.

This fourth season will take listeners through the modern music industry, from recording to release, while ensuring artists aren’t missing a single revenue stream. New episodes will drop every other week.

“It was the honor of a lifetime to partner with TheWRD on this incredible UK tour,” said Emily White. “The number one question I received is, ‘How does the U.S. industry differ from the UK?’ The reality is that I continue to meet countless artists in both countries who are doing everything they can to figure it all out.”

“What I also witnessed was a powerful sense of community within each music scene I visited,” said White. “[It’s} glaringly obvious that there are mechanisms in UK cities both small and large to support music’s infrastructure and growth. Whether it’s Bradford Music Month, Nottingham’s festival scene, the Sound of Belfast, or the energy from the music students at Anglia Ruskin University’s gorgeous facilities, music often feels beloved by all ages on these relatively small islands more than anywhere I’ve ever been in the world.”

Produced in partnership with TheWRD from The Ivors Academy, White began in Bradford before making her way down to Cambridge’s Anglia Ruskin University, Nottingham’s Metronome, London’s iconic Church Studios and The Crypt, Newcastle College, SAE Liverpool, The Yard in Manchester, Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Centre, and the Academy of Contemporary Music Birmingham before wrapping the season at London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.

Guests included UK music legend John Robb of The Membranes, Shoobs’ Chief Strategy Officer Christine Osazuwa, as well as musicians representing their respective cities, including Bradford Music Lead Sinead Campbell, Cambridge’s Jonathan Czerwick and Emily Frazer, which also included a live performance, EYRE LLEW & Rough Trade’s Samuel Heaton, Manchester’s Emma Mould, DJ Patrick Topping w/ HE.SHE.THEY Founder Steven Braines and Birmingham’s Lynz Crichton. The industry was also represented by Ditto Music’s Sam Wilce, UK Music Futures’ Board Member Charlene Hegarty, Church Studios’ Head Engineer Luke Pickering, The WRD & Wondrmakr CEO Ian Mack in addition to Compass Music’s Geraldine Zanaska.

“Emily is literally giving folks the tools and knowledge with which to empower themselves,” added The WRD’s Howard Monk, “With a strong focus on the music she spreads the word (geddit?) in such a positive and empowering way – it’s a supercharged message for artists (and let’s face it so many of us need that). On an educational level – actually learning some chops to further your knowledge and support your creative journey, the content is well worth your time.

The live UK podcast tour’s Season 4 premiere is out now here or wherever you listen to podcasts.
