Everyone at Collective Entertainment began their careers as interns. Co-Founding partner Emily White wrote a book called, Interning 101, that began as a handbook for Emily and the team. In short, we are passionate about interns! And love to train and inspire the next generation. Here we spotlight our current intern in our “Intern Corner” series:
Name: Brittany Landau
How did you get this internship?
I’ve been known to do some sleuthing on LinkedIn and found someone else who had interned for Collective. After researching the company further, I reached out to Emily and the rest is history!
What have you learned so far?
I have definitely learned how to manage my time more efficiently. Though I have the typical life of a college student with schoolwork, a job, and this internship, I was forced to learn how to effectively balance everything to create a stress-free environment for myself and the team.
What has surprised you the most?
I don’t think I’ve ever been super confident in my abilities to multi-task and problem solve, but this internship has taught me that I can absolutely do both. Struggling with multitasking was hard, like I said, but I’m extremely grateful to have the opportunity to hone in on that skill. As for problem-solving, being remote has made it more difficult to just get in contact with one of the managers when a problem arises, but that has definitely been helpful in forcing me to find my own solutions.
What are your career goals?
I know I’ve wanted to be somewhere in entertainment since a young age. I’ve had a number of internships doing a variety of things and I’m still figuring out exactly where I want to go. As a PR major, I want to go into social media or event planning, but my favorite internships have always been management, so I definitely am just looking forward to seeing what happens in the future!
